Remix Ethereum IDE Enhances Plugin Modularity

The Ethereum Foundation team and developers announced the latest update to the Remix Ethereum IDE in July 2025, focusing on plugin engine enhancements and efficient smart contract development.

These updates underscore Ethereum’s commitment to improving developer tools, impacting ETH and other EVM-compatible tokens by boosting smart contract deployment efficiency and developer engagement.

Remix Ethereum IDE unveiled its latest version v0.10.0, featuring plugin engine upgrades to improve smart contract development. This update, released in April 2025, strengthens the platform’s role in Ethereum’s blockchain ecosystem.

The Ethereum Foundation, with lead developer Yann Levreau, expanded the IDE’s capabilities. Notable features include UI improvements and support for async/await, enhancing usability for the developer community. Yann Levreau stated, “Very useful improvement to script running in IDE: you can now use async/await for script execution.”

Remix IDE v0.10.0: Plugin Engine Overhaul

The upgrade is expected to stimulate increased Ethereum transactions as developers deploy more smart contracts. This strengthens Ethereum’s network activity without causing changes in regulatory stance, due to Remix’s neutral role as infrastructure.
