More »Who this guide is for: Anyone curious about prediction markets, a way to trade on whether something will happen in the real world, and anyone interested in earning a Melee Score that may count toward future rewards. You do not need crypto trading experience or DeFi knowledge. If you have ever placed a sports bet or voted in an online poll, you already understand the core concept.
Important disclaimer: Melee is currently in beta. No Melee token trades on any exchange, and no airdrop has been officially announced. The Melee Score is the team's stated "foundation for future rewards", but future rewards are not guaranteed. Participation costs nothing (Solana transaction fees are tiny) and requires no minimum deposit, making this one of the lowest-risk ways to participate in a potential future distribution.
We tested this on three real devices (screenshots throughout are taken live, not stock photos):
Melee is a creator-powered prediction market platform built on Solana. A prediction market is a place where you bet on the outcome of future events, not just sports, but anything: Will a specific movie earn over $500 million at the box office? Will a new cryptocurrency hit $10 before the end of the year? Will GTA VI ship in 2026?
What makes Melee different from Polymarket or Kalshi:
Traditional prediction market platforms (Polymarket, Kalshi) have a central team that decides which questions can be asked. Melee removes this gatekeeper entirely. Any user can create a market on any topic. Creators who build popular markets earn a cut of every trade placed in their market, up to 20% of trading fees.
In plain terms: Think of Melee like a social media platform where instead of just posting opinions, you bet money on them, and where creating a popular question earns you money every time someone takes a side. If you post a question that thousands of people want to bet on, you earn from every trade.

Viral Markets (Permissionless Market Creation)
Any user can create a prediction market on any topic, crypto, sports, pop culture, politics, technology, or anything else. Markets display publicly and can go viral if the question resonates with the community. Creators who build high-volume markets earn up to 20% of all trading fees generated by their market.
Melee Score
The platform's core progression system. Your Melee Score reflects your cumulative activity and accuracy on the platform. It is divided into six tiers:
The team has stated that: (a) your beta score carries to mainnet, and (b) the Melee Score will be the "foundation for future rewards and point systems." What those future rewards are has not been specified, but the framing strongly suggests the Score will influence any future token distribution.
Dual Payout Structure
Melee's payout works differently from a simple binary bet:
This structure rewards being early and correct. The earlier you take a position on the winning side, the higher your payout floor and the more liquidity rewards you accumulate.
Social Graph Integration
Melee surfaces context around each market showing which of your connections have already traded it. This turns prediction markets into a social activity rather than a purely financial one, you can see what your network believes about any given question.
Creator Economy
Melee is explicitly positioned alongside the creator economy. Influencers, streamers, or anyone with an audience can create markets tied to their content (e.g. a streamer creating a market on whether they will win a tournament) and earn passive income from trading activity without taking on personal reputational risk.
OG Badge
An early-access badge distributed to users who signed up and participated during the earliest phases of the beta. Having an OG Badge is likely to be positively weighted in any future reward distribution, as it signals early commitment to the platform.
Traditional prediction markets use a constant-product AMM (like Uniswap) or a central market maker to set odds. Melee uses a custom algorithm designed to reward early correct predictors.
The mechanism in simple terms:
This creates a natural incentive to be both early and correct. If you have a strongly held view on an outcome and believe you have better information than the market, acting early maximises your potential return.
What you need:

The Melee markets page, active prediction markets sorted by prize pool size.
Step 1, Set Up a Solana Wallet
If you do not have a Solana wallet, download Phantom (phantom.app) or Solflare (solflare.com). Both are free browser extensions or mobile apps. Create your wallet and safely record the seed phrase (the 12-24 word backup) somewhere offline.
Fund your wallet with SOL. You can buy SOL on Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, or any major exchange and withdraw to your Solana wallet address.

Click a market to see the question, resolution date, and current YES/NO prices.
Step 2, Connect to Melee
Go to https://melee.markets and click "Connect Wallet". Select your Solana wallet (e.g. Phantom) and approve the connection. This does not cost anything.

Choose YES or NO and enter your stake in USDC, minimum bet is typically $1.

Review the potential payout shown before confirming your position.
Step 4, Place Your First Trade
Find a market you have a view on. Click it to open the detail page. Review:
Click "Yes" or "No" and enter the amount you want to trade. Review the payout shown. Click "Confirm" and approve in your wallet. Your Melee Score starts building immediately.

Approve in MetaMask, your position appears under My Bets with current value.
Step 5, Create Your Own Market
Click "Create Market" from the main screen. Fill in:
Submit the market. Once live, every trade placed in your market earns you up to 20% of the fee.

At resolution, winning positions are automatically credited to your wallet.
Step 6, Build Your Melee Score
Your Melee Score increases through:
Track your current tier (Bronze through Champion) and your rank among all users on the leaderboard. The top 2,500 traders on the leaderboard receive special recognition.
Melee's team has not announced a token or airdrop. However, the following signals suggest a token launch is likely at some point:
The risk/reward for participation:
Our recommendation for zero-risk participation: Create markets on topics you genuinely follow. Trade small amounts ($5-$20) on markets you have real views on. Build your Score over several months at minimal cost. This is one of the lowest-cost airdrop farming opportunities in the Solana ecosystem.

Polymarket dominates overall prediction market volume with a strong brand around major political and financial events. Melee's bet is that creator-driven, viral micro-markets across culture, crypto, and entertainment represent a different segment that Polymarket does not serve well. If that bet is right, Melee can be large without directly competing with Polymarket's core use case.
Pros
Cons
Who Melee is for:
Who should look elsewhere:
Rating: 3.7 / 5
Melee has an interesting value proposition, creator-powered viral prediction markets fill a gap that Polymarket's gatekeeper model leaves open. The team is strong (Solana core contributors, quantitative traders from SIG), the investors are top-tier (Variant, Solana's co-founder), and the Melee Score system sets up one of the most accessible pre-TGE participation opportunities in the ecosystem. The rating reflects the beta stage: no audit, no live token, and meaningful execution risk in building a social-feeling prediction market with sufficient liquidity depth. For the zero-cost of Solana gas fees, trying Melee is a very low-risk way to participate in what could become a meaningful airdrop.
